Firstly ...congratulations on starting the journey...i stumbled upon your blog from the home renovation and building forum. My Name is Zubin and me and my wife are seriously contemplating to buy a land and home (benham 29) at One minto. i had a few queries that i have hows the xperience been with rawson homes so far.i found their sales people quite helpful and their design inclusion awesome ( ia ssuem you r going with the gold package) also hows landcom in terms of registering your lot and other administrative works Hows the neighbourhood i mean the people, shops, library etc i understand that it is a stage wise process of rejuvenation of minto but does the mix of having a public housing currently cause any sort of harrassment or break ins etc.? how is the maintenance scenario- are the amenitites maintained properly or theres a lot of vandalism that happens in parks/BBQ Areas etc.? Also We r not sure of the standard of schools around the area and the crowd studying there. Dont have any kids rite now though just thinking ahead I would really appreciate if you could answer any of my doubts as personally i think the value of the area will surely increase in the coming years. Looking forward to be a part of growing community at One Minto! keep me posted and keep up the good work setting up your blog mate!
Apologies for such a late reply, I just managed to notice your post..
To be honest, the experience has been really good with RH. I am comparing it between my friends from who work who one of them is going with Metr... the other one with Master... and they not nearly as fast in progressing as we were. Me and my Partner are always trying to stay o top of things and put a bit of pressure on them as well to ensure things will be done fast, but to be honest - no stress :) everything was working our in, a lot of support throughout the process, the internal selection lady - fantastic experience. If i was to build a house again - RH would be the builder definitely.
When it comes to the area - to be honest have not noticed any vandalism around at all, nothing has been stolen from our site. Spoke several times to neighbors, they say they do enjoy living in there as it ic nice and peaceful.
So I would assume there are no problems.
When it schools - no idea unfortunately, but there is couple around from what i have noticed.
Maintenance wise - the parks are always clean, no dramas around.
Landcom was great and easy to deal with. I was buying lot that was already registered, but my solicitor and I found them really easy and fast to deal with.
Let me know if you have any questions. If you will be speaking to RH, speak to John and Mention my name lot 239.
